Old Sketch

When this years sports illustrated swimsuit came out this year I spend some time sketching the lovely ladies. This is one I like out of the bunch.

Been diggen through old sketchbooks, and found this one of a co-worker. This is the original I later made a better one for her as a b-day present, enjoy.

Character Pose Sheet

This started out as a ink scribble on a note book at work today and at luch turned into this. The part I'm most happy with is the full pose. Most of the time I have a hard time constructing the character over the line of action but today all of the things I've been reading and sketching just clicked. Now I just have to make more time between my son, wife, and work. I know I'll stop sleeping!

Blog logo

Been working on a logo for my blog and in the future website.The pencile one was close to the final design of many many pages of ruffs but it still had something that buged me. It was the hind leg, so the blue one ( and no this isn't the final color) is the one I choose after fixing the leg.

More bears

Heres another page of bears from last saterday while having coffee. My wife liked the one holding the jar and I'm tryinh to push his design more. I also like the one with the heavy brow.

Bearly Ruff

Sorry couldn't refuse the bad pun but while on lunch today I came up with this bear.
I'd say I'm getting better at drawing with construction lines and such. Now I need to keep working on line of action and posing, using squash and stretch.

Character Ruff's

Hi all decided to post some character sketches I made of a monkey for a short I had an idea for. It never got more than a few pages in my sketchbook but it was fun to do anyway.

Looooooong Time no post

Well it's be awhile since I posted last. From that time to now. Me and my wife have welcomed our son Collin Gregory McLeod into the world, I had to have gallbladder surgery and have been told I have carpal tunnel syndrome. (fun!) Well 2007 turn out to have it's ups and downs, can't wait to see what this year has in store for me. Here is a picture on my greatest creation to date. He really has made me more focused on making a career in animation.

new web banner

Made a new banner for my blog but in true blogger fasion it dosent show except in the template section when I hit the preveiw button. I'm hoping it's a small clitch and it will be fixed soon. Off to bed for me.

I Just Look Dead

Well I,m back for my vacation and me and my wife had a blast. My neice had fun as well despite just wanting to sit on the beach ah kids. Any way I did some sketching and this one is my favorite.

I'll post more of me sketches soon, for right now I'm getting my portfolio with animation put together for a demo reel exchange at my alma mater. As always comments are appreciated

On Vacation

Well I'm leaving for Maui with my wife and niece. This picture was done by my wife on the paint program that comes with all PC's. She is getting really good at this.
Anyway I'll be off from blogging for two weeks recharging my artistic batteries.

Playing with Photoshop

Took a scribble I made on a post-it and played with a photo-shop tutorial on painting I got from Heri. Hes a cool guy in Ca that will no doubt be working in animation soon. First Cartoon

Edit: Here is the colored version, please let me know what you think of my color choices.










This is the inked version of my first cartoon. One of my goals is to get better a cartooning. One of my biggest obstacles has been "What to draw?" well I was sitting in front of the blank page getting pretty pissed off over my current finances and it hit me. Writers should write what they know artist should draw what they know. This is what came out after a few thumb-nails. Please any comments or critiques would be very helpfully.

The colored version should be done by tonight with any luck.

30 Minute Anatomy

In Rebecca Kimmel's website I saw her drawing of the rib cage and set my egg timer to 30 minutes and this is the result. I'm just trying to get better at anatomy. Please all comments welcome.

New TMNT Movie

I found this link from Mike Manley's blognew trailer for the new 3D Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie coming out next March. I can't wait for this to come out. Just from the trailer the modleing looks good and the action is fluid and not stiff as some CG flicks have been in the past but will have to see in March.
